“Search Me, O God”

Search me,O God, and know my heart today,
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray;
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.
I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;
Fulfill Thy word and make me pure within;
Fill me with fire, where once I burned with shame;
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.
Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine;
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;

* While the song you read to start is a wonderful song to sing, it is a “dangerous” prayer to offer. We all have sins within us of which we are unaware, for the heart is deceitful above all things. But as we submit ourselves to the searchlight of God’s Spirit, we can discover the habits that need to be confessed and the attitudes that need to be changed.

* The beginning song is a great hymn of the Christian church. As I read through the book , " Then Sings my Soul" I found parts of the reading to be great material for a message.I pray that the Lord gets ahold of your heart and life. I pray you are blessed and are a blessing, as God works in and through you.
